Missouri Workforce Housing Association Holds Inaugural Conference

The inaugural conference of the Missouri Workforce Housing Association (MOWHA) was held at the Lodge of Four Seasons, overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks, October 6th and 7th, 2011. Erica Dobreff, KCEF President, who serves on the Board of Directors of MOWHA, reported that the meeting was a great success – drawing more than 100 participants from all regions of the State.

Panel discussions included a legislative affairs update, information about financing mechanisms for affordable housing and a roundtable regarding MHDC with key staff and Lt. Governor Peter Kinder.

A highlight of the meeting was a dialogue with key policy-makers in the Missouri Legislature, which offered participants the opportunity to discuss effective methods for maintaining an adequate supply of affordable housing throughout Missouri.
