Community Renewal and Development and North Newstead Association Merge

Community Renewal and Development, Inc. (CRD) and North Newstead Association (NNA) merged effective January 1, 2017. These two community development corporations that have been serving North St. Louis City for years and recently joined together to boost their capacity, broaden their reach, and expand their collective expertise. Former CRD Executive Director Sal Martinez, who previously served on NNA’s Board of Directors until November of 2016, has assumed the role of NNA’s new Executive Director. Brian Davies of Great Southern Bank and long-time NNA Board Member has been named Board President of NNA. The St. Louis Equity Fund and North Newstead Association have partnered on several Low Income Housing Tax Credit developments in the Penrose and O’Fallon neighborhoods and we look forward to continuing our work in this community. Congratulations to both organizations!
