ERICA DOBREFF NAMED PRESIDENT OF THE KANSAS CITY EQUITY FUND

Erica Dobreff has been named President of the newly formed Kansas City Equity Fund, which is being formed with the assistance and support of the St. Louis Equity Fund, Inc. Dobreff was most recently the Executive Director of the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation, the entity charged with policy development and implementation for affordable housing programs in that state. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of the Missouri Housing Development Commission. “Erica Dobreff brings a wealth of experience in housing and urban development, financing and Kansas City market knowledge to her new leadership position of the Kansas City Equity Fund,” said John Wuest, president/CEO, St. Louis Equity Fund. The Kansas City Equity Fund will raise capital on an annual basis from financial institutions and corporations interested in investing in affordable and historic housing in Kansas City and the surrounding metropolitan area. The fund will invest by purchasing federal and state low income housing tax credits as well as federal historic tax credits from for-profit and not-for-profit developers, then allocating the benefits of these credits to its investors. Wuest noted that although most low income housing tax credits are allocated by geography in Missouri, the existence of the Kansas Equity fund will serve to continue the development of affordable and historic housing in the Kansas City area.
