Denise Washington

Asset Manager - Financial Reporting

Denise Washington is Asset Manager – Financial Reporting for St. Louis Equity Fund (SLEFI). Denise joined SLEFI in March 2010.  Her primary role is to protect the company’s investment in affordable and historic preservation projects. She shares the day-to-day asset management responsibilities for a portfolio of more than 3,000 units.  Denise is responsible for financial project reviews and investor reporting.  

Before joining SLEFI, Denise worked most recently as Vice President, Marketing Strategies and Consulting for Wells Fargo Bank where she developed strategies to improve cross-sell and increase relationship profitability.  She was also a Commercial Lender while at Wells Fargo where she managed a portfolio of middle market companies with revenues ranging from $200M to $1B.  Denise’s career in accounting began in 1994 as a Staff Auditor with Arthur Andersen here in town.  Following Andersen she worked as a Senior Auditor at both McDonnell Douglas (Boeing Corporation) and Anheuser Busch Companies before transitioning into Anheuser Busch’s Treasury Group and later leaving to return to graduate school full-time.  Denise has continually expanded the scope of her finance and accounting acumen over the course of her 15 year career as both student and teacher of the trade.  She serves as an Accounting Lecturer at Fontbonne University as well.

Denise earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida A&M University in 1994, and her Master of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in finance, from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in 2003.  Denise is a CPA registered in the State of Missouri.
