John J. Wuest

John Wuest served as President and CEO of the St. Louis Equity Fund from 2005 until 2015, and now serves as Vice Chair. John is also Chairman of Gateway Community Development Fund, Inc. and Community Asset Management Company. Prior to joining the Equity Fund, he served as President and CEO of Heartland Bank for 17 years. He began his banking career with Mercantile Bank rising to Executive Vice President- Commercial Lending after 17 years of service.

In addition to his career responsibilities, Mr. Wuest is actively involved with various professional, civic, and arts organizations, including:

Mr. Wuest earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Commerce & Finance at Saint Louis University in 1966, and his Master of Science degree in Commerce, with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Management, from Saint Louis University in 1971.
